Society needs to act now to decarbonise, while restoring nature and biodiversity, protecting soil and water, and continuing to produce food to sustain a growing population in an uncertain world.
This can only be achieved if farmers, landowners and local communities work together to improve and restore natural habitats, while finding new ways to sustainably produce food and create value.
By working together through the Brit Valley Project, we can restore nature on a landscape scale in West Dorset. We can create a river catchment area teeming with wildlife in the grasslands, woodlands and wetlands, with thriving and sustainable farming, increased public connection with and benefit from nature, and more opportunities for sustainable jobs, education and tourism. This will deliver more nature, more farm prosperity and happier, healthier communities.
